Hello my friends!
It's been a while since I wrote a trip summary.
This trip was just such a beautiful walk on a lovely fall day! A group of 12 Pipits visited Crawford Lake. The boardwalk was closed for repairs, so we took a trail that meandered along through the forest and beside the escarpment for a ways, before turning back into the forest. It was a little rough, and we had to hold hands and help each other through those parts of the trail, but thankfully the trail widened out and the slope became much more accommodating after we left the escarpment section! We did it! Well done everyone, I love how everyone comes together in this group, whether it be to locate and ID birds, or to give each other a hand. You are all fabulous.

It was not a birdy day, unfortunately, and we were participating in the Alan Wormington Fall Bird Count for Hamilton Naturalist's Club, but we did manage 10 species. The eBird list can be reviewed here. We also found some interesting plants, check out these photos!

I realize I've had to make a number of alterations and cancellations to our planned trips, sometimes with short notice. I really want to apologize for the changes everyone. There's only one of me, and living up north of Orillia makes it a bit more challenging to get down south for the trips. Please be patient with me.
Thanks to everyone for joining our trip to Crawford Lake, it really was wonderful to bird with you all!
