The Advanced Facility for Avian Research (AFAR) is dedicated to the study of avian biology with specialized housing and experimental facilities to understand bird behaviour, physiology and neurobiology. The unique AFAR hypobaric climatic wind tunnel is used to study bird flight and migration under controlled atmospheric conditions. AFAR tours will be led by AFAR Director Dr. Scott MacDougall-Shackleton and Dr. Chris Guglielmo, Director of Western’s Centre for Animals on the Move.
