This SUNDAY we will visit the Peterborough area, with Guest Leader Mike Burrell!

Leader: Mike Burrell

Co-Leader: Colleen Reilly, 289.795.6537 (C)

Trip description: winter birds around Peterborough

We'll do a driving tour around the edge of the Canadian Shield near Peterborough looking for winter birds of the area. Winter finches are a possibility and if we are lucky we could find eagles, some northern species, or even a daytime Barred Owl.

Bio: Mike is a longtime Ontario birder who works as a zoologist with the Natural Heritage Information Centre in Peterborough. He is currently the archivist of the OBRC, a board member of OFO, coordinates eBird review for the province and sits on several committees for the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas. Mike is also the co-author of the book "Best Places to Bird in Ontario".
