Hello Pipits!

This SUNDAY we will visit Long Point to meet up with Kyle Cameron, and observe the fall bird banding. We will also walk the trails at Birds Canada headquarters, trails at Old Cut banding station, and car bird along the causeway, and several other locations. Fall migration will be well underway at this point, and we will see a variety of habitats so should see a wide range of birds.

We will meet at the Birds Canada headquarters at 9am. NOTE that this is changed from the original location where we were going to meet.

Here is a short description by Kyle: We will begin our program with a walk around the bird observatory to find some early season migrants (warblers, shorebirds) and learn how we monitor bird populations. We will follow up the walk with a banding demonstration and discussion on the health of bird populations and what we can do to help.
