About the event

This SATURDAY we will do a trip to Amherst Island, and on Sunday depending on our schedule this February, may also do a trip to Wolfe Island!

Leader: Colleen Reilly, 289.795.6537 (C)

Trip description: Driving tour of the Islands, with multiple stops to look for birds such as Snow Buntings, Short Eared Owls, as well as hopefully a walk into Owl Woods on Amherst Island to see what we can find in there!

On Saturday, meet at 9:00 am at the Amherst Island ferry dock to catch the 9:30 ferry. In order to see Short Eared Owls, we will have to stay on the Island until well into dusk.

On Sunday, if schedules allow, meet at 9:00 am at the Wolfe Island ferry dock to catch the 9:40 ferry.

We will focus on wintering owls and raptors. Bring a packed lunch and hot drinks.

The Pipits

The goal of The Pipits is to increase awareness of the natural world, in particular, birds, but also all other wild organisms; in a safe and inclusive social setting where we connect with each other through our mutual appreciation of the wild.
